Wood countertops are a unique and variable choice for worktops. The style can vary greatly from basic butcher block style to single cuts of wood fit, sanded and polished to perfection. For this reason the costs associated with a wooden worktop will depend entirely on your vision of the finished product.
The lower end and more common butchers block style are very cost effective being only slightly more expensive than the average laminate counter. For solid wood applications the larger the countertop, the higher the price you will pay for custom wood cuts. Some exotic wood worktops such as macasar ebony could easily cost more than any other type of worktop material.
