There are many different types of worktops available depending on your budget, style and taste. Laminate countertops are the most cost effective and common worktop surface primarily because of the reasonable cost and relative longevity of the product.
Concrete countertops and granite countertops both have a similar price point, which is to say expensive, as far as solid surface worktops go. A wooden countertop surface will vary in price tremendously depending on the type of wood that you use. A relatively rare exotic wood or any burl or figure to the wood grain and the price could increase exponentially.
