Granite worktops are one of the most expensive but also one of the most cosmetically pleasing countertop surfaces. Additionally they are also more resistant to staining than concrete and wooden countertops.
The disadvantage of granite worktops is largely the high cost associated with them. The type, and ultimately color of the granite you choose will dictate the cost of your worktop. The vast majority of the cost of installing granite counters in your house is a direct result of high product costs. This is the opposite situation of polished concrete countertops.
